Jacqueline Disselkoen
Jacqueline (Jackie) Disselkoen was born in Antofagasta Chile, where her mother and father and grandparents served as missionaries. In 1954, her parents brought her and her siblings to America to escape the military and communist unrest in Latin America. They settled in Brandenburg, Kentucky for a year before relocating to El Paso, Texas -- where both her parents, and later Jackie, worked for the Baptist Spanish Publishing House (BSPH). The BSPH publishes Sunday School and other Christian training materials as well as Bibles for the Spanish-speaking world.
Jackie was diagnosed with cancer in 1995. As it became more apparent that she was nearing the end of her life, she asked her sister to invest her life’s savings, including her annuity, in the same ministries where she’d invested her life’s work. Jackie loved singing, and it was her desire to establish a foundation that would teach children the love of God, the love of music, and the love of praising the Lord through the fine and performing arts.
The Jackie's Song Foundation was created to carry out her desires to teach children about the love of Jesus. Jackie served as music and choir director in several churches and experienced first-hand the joy of praising God in song.
